While shopping at Big Lots grocery store recently I discovered a new brand of gluten free corn noodles that I had not seen before. Millers Finest, a corn noodle… a 16 oz bag was only $2.00! Figuring I could throw away $2.00 if they were really horrible (most gluten-free noodles are really bad… hate to say) I decided to take my chances.
The first dish I made was 0ne of Tanner’s favorites: beef broth with noodles and some Italian sausage. Nothing else – no corn, no celery, no carrots, no peas, no green beans… He doesn’t like “having salad in his soup”.
After the noodles were cooked I carefully rinsed them. These noodles were similar to rice noodles in that they leave a film in the water. I tasted a noodle and found it to be quite yummy. I tasted another… hummmm. Surprisingly wonderful. Firm yet not hard. Al dente while not mushy at all.
After adding the noodles to the beef broth with Italian sausage I ladled a bowl for Tanner. He tentatively tasted the first noodle. “This noodle looks different,” he remarked. I told him to, “Just taste it. I did. They’re wonderful.” He was curious, “Are you sure they’re my kind?” I showed him the bag and assured him that they were indeed ‘his kind.’ He ate a spoon full and, before I could count to 20, he was asking for another bowl! He ate three full bowls and remarked, “Wow, mom, these really are good and I’m finally really full.” Talk about a good feeling (for him and for me). This boy seems to always be hungry and it’s hard to find something tasty, healthy, gluten-free, sugar-free and overall kid friendly. Thanks to these noodles we’ll be having much more pasta!
Bon Appétit!

Rhonda, i too found these noodles at Big Lots in Louisille Ky! I loved them so much i bought about 30 bags and put them in a tote in my garage! I am a recentely discovered gulten-intolerant and i am really on the hunt for gluten free products that satisfy. I am not a fan of the rice pasta products because they are really gummy and the boil over and seem to stick to my teeth! This brand is made in Romania and is non- GMO: how much better could it get? My favorite shape is the mini lasagne and i also love the little bags of polenta. I make a lg cookie sheet of it and i add savory seasonings to it. After firming in the refrig i like to fry little squares with a little coconut oil and put things on top like over easy eggs or asparagus and mushrooms. Have a Blessed Day!
Hi Tammy,
I also have found that the mini lasagne shaped noodles are the family favorite! We haven’t found a great way to cook the polenta – how do you cook it?
Your recipe with asparagus and mushrooms sounds super-yummy!
Thank you very much for sharing and may you also have a very blessed day!
~Rhonda
Hi Rhonda, i too found these noodles at Big Lots in Louisville Ky! After reading the comment from the other gal in Louisville I bought a bag of all three varieties. My family likes the little mini lasagne noodles the best but I like the spaghetti noodles the best personally. We liked them all so much that I had to go back for more!
Thanks for the gluten-free tip!

I, too, found Millers Finest at Big Lots (in Dallas) and I, too, thought that I could risk the $2,00 to see if they were edible. What a pleasant surprise! I bought them yesterday and just cooked a small “tasting portion’ today. I feel as though I need to rush back to Big Lots and stock up. Another good gluten free product at Big Lots that my daughter told me about is Cheese Bites snack crackers. I think there are 3 varieties but my favorite is the triangular shaped one. It is puffed and crispy and you would never guess that it is gluten free. You may have discovered that Big Lots also carries Bob’s Red Mill products and sometimes will have a lot of gluten free although, right now, my store does not. I really like the oatmeal and it is cheaper at BL.
You are doing great things for your son and others. Although it is sometimes difficult, I am fortunate to only be gluten intolerant.. My very best wishes to you and your family.
Hi Marci,
My son hasn’t t tried the Cheese Bites (yet) but will do do soon! Thanks for the great tip! He’s twelve now and eating practically non-stop so any extra snack to hold him over in between meals would be super!
Thanks again for sharing,
~Rhonda
Thank you for sharing your experience Marci! I would stock up! I haven’t been able to find them at my local Big Lots for awhile now. *I guess maybe I’ve told too many people… ha ha. Enjoy! ~Rhonda
Hello i bought some Millers Finest Gluten Free Corn Pasta at Big Lots for my Girlfriend. She wont try it as i can not find out if it is treenut free. I guess i could call the Factory from the phone number on the bag. If you can help me in any way to find the answer to production questions i need, i would be grateful. Thank you, Gary
Hi Gary,
I am so glad you you wrote in about Millers Finest Gluten Free Corn Pasta! Your girlfriend is safe and should be thrilled to know that not only are the noodles free of any contamination from tree nuts but they taste terrific! They have become our household favorite. Just today I stocked up at Big Lots. The only unfortunate thing is that the noodles are not always on the shelf so stock up when you do see them!
Thanks again for writing in Gary. Please let me know what your girlfriend thinks of the noodles after she tries them,
~Rhonda
Hello Rhonda, Well tonight we found out that there is something in the Millers Finest Gluten Free Corn Pasta. My girlfriend took one bite while cooking them…Her tongue started to itch and swell. Her throat soon followed!! We were able to avoid a trip to the Emergency Room thanks to two Benedryl Tabs!! Something was cross contaminated!! Too Bad. Just be Careful My Friends!!>>Gary
Wow Gary, I am shocked!!! Millers Finest Gluten Free Corn Pasta is produced in a gluten free facility and – according to the support there: marketing@cornpasta.ro – not cross contaminated with other known allergens. Because Millers Finest Gluten Free pasta is produced in Bucharest, Romania I suspect the possibility of a misunderstanding on allergens. I wonder what your girlfriend is reacting to? I will contact them again and post their response.
I’ve VERY glad that Benedryl Taps did the trick! *Aren’t they convenient?
Wow, I’m not the only one who is stacking Millers Best! Found the brand a couple of months ago here in Las Cruce, NM…and then, found them AGAIN a couple of weeks ago. Both times, grabbed what was on the shelves.
I’m on a low-protein diet due to kidney issues and the corn pasta is lower in protein than regular pasta and even is a little lower than rice pasta.
I bulk ordered Mrs. Leepers but Mrs. Leepers is so expensive and has limited “shapes.” I just ate a bowl of Rigati tonight (second time) and it’s delicious and reminds me of all the pasta I ate in the past! (I’m Italian by descent.)
I sure hope this brand keeps showing up at Big Lots!! I know the regular pasta..Vitelli brand appears fairly often.
This product is a blessing to me and it’s a bonus that it cooks up so well and is so delicious….not to mention the non-GMO manufacturing, apparently to British standards..
Hi Gloria,
Thanks SO much for sharing your experience! My husband laughed when he noticed half of an entire shelf in my pantry “stocked” with Millers Finest Gluten Free Noodles! They are SO good, SO healthy and SO… (well, let’s see) the list could go on! I absolutely LOVE everything about these noodles!
On your kidney issues, I would HIGHLY recommend three things. First, read the following two articles:
#1 – Glutathione – this article is the story of how supporting my sons’ immune system literally turned our lives around!
#2 – Kidney Disease – this article (from the Oxford Journals) shows very clearly how glutathione can help to restore your kidney function.
#3 – ORDER Dr. Keller’s Original Glutathione Formula for $39.95. Take it for three full months. You WILL have increased glutathione levels and you WILL be supporting your kidney functions naturally!
To your health! Thanks again for writing in Gloria!

Thanks to you for sharing this article I have now found the best pasta I have ever tasted. Most of those other gluten-free noodles taste like plastic and feel like you’re chewing on rubber. These taste like the real deal without the side effects! When are they going to come out with full size lasagna noodles? Do you have an inside track with the manufactures? You should be selling these noodles on your website Rhonda.
Thanks! Emma
Hi Emma,
Terrific to hear the great news from you! I totally agree that the taste and texture can’t be compared to! As far as an ‘inside track’ and placing on my website – neither are likely to happy. Sorry about that. I would direct questions about further products right here: marketing@cornpasta.ro
Thanks again,
~Rhonda
Great article, sweetie! I’ll be waiting for more! These noodles are everything you said they were! What a great find!!!

Rhonda:
I recently discovered Millers Finest Gluten Free Pasta. I do think it is the best pasta that is gluten free. Does anyone know where I can purchase it?? Big Lots has depleted their inventory.
Hi Gorio,
On the Miller’s Finest Gluten Free Noodles: I have found that Big Lots has them from time to time but not every day for some reason. When I see them on the shelf I buy 30 or more bags. It’s the weirdest thing with Big Lots – you never know what will be on the shelf and how long it will be available! I check every time I go in and look at other Big Lots stores if my local store is out. You might want to do the same thing. I have written in to the company and will post the response as soon as I hear back.
Thanks again for writing in. I LOVE the pictures posted on your site and would LOVE to stay at Ogunquit Beach Inn some day. We had a family reunion several years ago in Maine and it was a fabulous memory!,
~Rhonda
After reading all of the hoopla on this noodle here I had to give in and give it a try. I have this to say: This is the tastiest hoopla I have ever had! You are doing a good service with your website. Keep it up. You should consider carrying these noodles. I went back for more noodles and they were all out.
Bennie
Hi Bennie,
Thanks for the hoopla! I’m so glad you like the noodles – seems that everyone does! That’s too bad that your store was out when you went back. Keep your eyes out for more to come in and stock up!
~Rhonda
The same company, S. Trade SRL, makes a 10oz bag with the same base ingredients in rigatoni shape and is sold at the 99 Cents Only Stores in California, So, a dollar per 10 oz. is even better than the price at Big Lots, and I like to stock up on both. Just wanted to give the heads up on another hidden place to find gluten free/gmo free, etc noodles
Happy noodle hunting!
Justina
Hi Justina,
Thank you SO much! These noodles are truly THE best! What stores do you find these at in California?
Thanks again,
~Rhonda
