When you’ve got someone in your household on a gluten free diet, going out to eat is a real challenge… options generally include grilled chicken or fish, hamburger with no bun, rice and beans, fruits and vegetables and ice cream! The healthy choices are pretty limited…
Limited only if you haven’t visited Johnny Carino’s Italian restaurant! Here in Parker (9355 Crown Crest Blvd. Parker, CO 80138). I regularly visit my favorite spot with family and friends. One of my very favorite dishes is the Chicken Scaloppini with a side of artichokes. I also have them add their famous spicy marinara to the noodles… sooooooooooooooooooo good that my mouth waters just thinking about it!
Although I am not on a gluten free diet, my son is. This can be a real challenge when there simply are no options on the menu for him. Enter: Johnny Carino’s! Carino’s, in cooperation with the Gluten Intolerance Group (GIG), is providing many of the classic favorites to include Chicken Marsala, Lemon Rosemary Chicken, Jalapeño Garlic Tilapia and – my personal favorite – Chicken Scaloppini! Suggested substitutions for non-gluten items don’t cost extra and everyone is happy!
The signature Italian food at Carino’s is hard to beat and you may have your favorites, like me. I recently added a new favorite to my list last week – the Pecan Crusted Chicken Salad… Fresh spinach, gorgonzola, roma tomatoes, applewood smoked bacon, red onions, crispy onion straws. Served with warm bacon vinaigrette…
What a treat! This salad was enough for two complete meals so I enjoyed the second half of this wonderful meal the next day for lunch!
If you haven’t had some really good Italian food lately, stop by Johnny Carino’s Italian restaurant because My Carino’s should be Your Carino’s, too! Tell them Rhonda sent you and don’t forget to have a piece of the triple chocolate tiramisu for dessert! The pieces are big enough to share with a friend… but you many not want to!

I, too, love Carino’s… haven’t been there in ages though. I didn’t know that they had a gluten free menu. Is this something new? I’m just tickled by your blag and can’t wait to go to Carino’s. You should be getting some kind of discount for this kind of endorsement! Sincerely, Karen F.
You’ll be glad you went to Carino’s! I can’t get enough of their wonderful food! They’re like family… endorsement – Diamo, the manager, treated my friend Barb and I to deep fried artichokes yesterday… HEAVENLY! We could have made a meal on just those! And the tiramisu – even Barb (who isn’t a tiramisu fan) – liked it. I LOVED it… the best I’ve EVER had! Tell them Rhonda sent you went you go! Cheers!! ~ Rhonda

Hi Rhonda,
This is pretty amazing about Carino’s. I went on their site and saw where they supported Autism Speaks last month. Does Carino’s have an Autism connection? That would be pretty cool. I would go to Carino’s just because of that. Please let me know (if you can) what their viewpoint is. Or – maybe someone from Carino’s could respond if that is possible. I’d start spreading the word for you and them.
Thanks for the efforts you are both making – for my son and 50 billion (or so) other people with autism today. Charlene from Idaho Falls.

This came to my personal email from an executive with Carino’s… just another reason why I LOVE Carino’s – they have the personal touch!
Hi Rhonda,
Thanks for including Carino’s Italian on your blog post today. Carino’s is supporting Autism Awareness and actually ran a fundraising awareness campaign that benefitted Autism Speaks last month (National Autism Awareness Month). Here’s a link to the announcement: http://www.restaurantnewsresource.com/article45025.html
Again thanks for mention and raising awareness about autism.
Best,
Joe Vasquez

Hi Rhonda,
I’m so glad you shared this article. We went to Carino’s last night and love their food! Crazy that we’ve lived here in Parker for 3 years and this was our first (but certainly NOT our last) visit! Their food is superior to every other Italian food place we’ve tried here in Parker. Bon Appétit!
