This morning I watched this trailer about a boy who was helped with his Autism – by a horse! Click here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=klth8prjkAs
I had to wonder if we aren’t looking at the world of Autism all wrong sometimes. Do we really need to “cure” people with Autism or simply learn to understand them and their way of seeing the world?
Another amazing person with Autism, Sue Rubin, http://www.sue-rubin.org/, was diagnosed as mentally retarded at 4. She has a “severe form” of Autism yet she has learned to not only overcome her limitations but to inspire others as well.
Her documentary, Autism is a World, is eye-opening. Check out more here: http://www.cnn.com/2005/EDUCATION/09/27/cnnpce.autism/index.html

Very cool! I had never heard of Sue Rubin before. This just goes to show that children will accomplish what people expect them to… her mother must be a saint. Rhonda, YOU are a saint, also! God bless you!
